Modern Geisha. 現代の芸者

Following Nymphette's October Calendar, yesterday's theme was Geishaaa! I knew I wanted to do it as soon as I saw it on the calendar. I started off doing a traditional one with the red lips. But then changed my mind & added some dino-flare to it lol.

ELF Studio Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palette
Jeez, the white face was such a pain. I didn't have face paint & wasn't really keen on going out to get some. So I just used my Cover Girl AquaSmoothers foundation (that I'm trying to finish) & a white matte eyeshadow. I neverrrr use this palette.. the pigmentation, or lack thereof bothers me. I have to crush the shadow & then use it.. to get some color on my brush. Well, after about half an hour & many muttered cuss words later, I got my face white. Haa. Then I added the color on my eyes & did a nifty-looking, thick, double-winged eyeliner.

NYX Shocking Pink Matte Lipstick • NYX Doll Pink Lipgloss

Lol my man was all critiquing me on the lips. "You did the line too thick.. it's supposed to be thinner" -____- Whatever, bro. I like it like this lol. I liked it more before the gloss though.

ELF Pink Passion Blush
I remind myself of Ehonda in this picture lol. I used Pink Passion pretty exaggeratedly on my cheeks. I wanted it to look really pink! By the time I finished it was dark out so I couldn't use natural lighting so I apologize. I hate how flash pictures (of me) look.

Nails: Teal Geisha

LA Colors Sea Siren
I love these LA Color polishes! They're like a dollar, I think? & They have some awesome colors. The only thing I don't like is the bottle shape lol but that's irrelevant. I got like three of these the other day & I love them all. The yellow flash in the pic makes it look weird. But it's such a pretty color. Promise!

Thanks for stopping by, phrands!
Btw I haven't had much time to check out too many blogs so please don't be terribly angry with me!
Like, "Oh she can post but she can't comment me back? Pfft" lol I will!!
No worries kay, I'm not ignoring anyone! Thanks for reading, anyway <333 Hope you enjoy the week!

My Signature Colors+ Stunning Earrings

This is just a random FOTD wearing the colors I can't steer clear of; Purple & Aqua. Whether it's together or by themselves, I always reach for these & if I can't make these colors work with what I'm wearing, then I'm probably wearing the duchrome from the Comfort Zone palette lol. It's a rut I'm very happy with right now. The only time I've been wearing different colors is when I try to do a special look for my blog.. which is working out awesome because I'm getting use out of all the other shadow colors I never use!

Urban Decay Rockstar • MAC Violet Pigment • Urban Decay Electric

I used the Violet pigment all over the lid & used Rockstar in the outer-v and crease. Then went in lightly with Electric on the inner half of the lower lash line. I used Rockstar again in the outer half of the lower lash line. I used a random matte cream color from my Sedona Lace palette as the brow highlight.

Wet N Wild Mega Last Matte Lipstick in Think Pink (901B) • NYX Lipgloss in Natural

I just kinda threw this on. I originally was wearing Violetta by MAC but it seemed too overpowering.. wayyy too overpowering. I didn't want to go completely nude so I went to this pretty WnW pink & this neutral gloss over it. Looks really nice, I think. ^.^ Better than Violetta did, at least! Haa.

Crystal Earrings & Matching Ring from Rinaa's Fashion & Accessories.

These are beautiful! I had her FB page added & the other day she posted this set that caught my eye. I've always loved big ginormo earrings & recently I've been getting into stud earrings. I think they add such a classy touch. Welp this is pretty much the best of both worlds, Haa. I didn't know they came in a set at first, it came out to $18, I think.. for the ring & the studs. Gorg, right!!?? The first pic was taken outside but in the shade. Mannn, when the sun hits these babies it's wonderfully blinding lol. Like, if I was stuck on a deserted island & I needed to get a plane's attention, I would use these! lol I love them. My man got me these 'cause I wouldn't stop talking about them. Thank you, Bae!

Thanks so much for reading!

Review: Jamberry Nail Shields

Holaaa! Remember my not so pleasant experience with nail stickers? They looked adorable & pretty for like a day & then they started peeling off. :c Well this time around, I tried out Jamberry's Nail Shields! Their lovely Independent Consultant Nicole was sweet enough to give me the chance to try these babies for myself. Of course I'll have to admit, I had no clue what Jamberry nail shields were or how they worked lol So in case, you're looking at me with that stunned Larry Merchant face lol. Here's basically what they are..

About the product
[Jamberry Nail Shields are a solid film covering that can be applied directly to natural/acrylic/gel nails to achieve a look. This special material is both pressure and heat activated to create a bond to your nail. The film is finished with a high gloss protective layer to prevent your nail shield from chipping or scuffing. Application takes about  fifteen minutes & the claims are that it can last up to 2 weeks on fingers and 6 weeks on toes.]

My Experience
I love the styles they offer & I love that it doesn't take rocket science to figure out how to put them on correctly. Now I don't know about ya'll but I enjoy my "me time". Even if it's just doing my nails, I embrace that time. So the 15-20 minutes it took to apply, was fine for me because I knew they'd last a while anyway. I'm usually the type that changes nail colors every other day. I know I'm not alone either lol Some of us wear a different color everyday lol. When you peel them off, they feel just like stickers with air bubbles & all. The heat from the blow dryer, though, really helps with those & once the heat makes it more flexible (it doesn't take that long) you just press down on the shield. I cut the excess after this using a combination of scissors, small nail clippers, & a nail file. I then ran the blow dryer over it one last time & pressed firmly again, just to kind of seal in the edges. For each little strip, I was able to cover two nails. So I ended up using only 5 strips.

Shield is just placed on nail. This is before any heat or pressure was applied. I just wanted ya'll to get an idea of the length of the strips.
My Results
Lovely. I was very pleased with the quality & of course the pattern is adorable. I managed to keep them on for 6 days. After the sixth day, I noticed peeling on the corners on the first nail. By the eighth day, 2 more nails started lifting at the corners. After that I took them off. They didn't last the full two weeks for me but they still had a pretty good run, in my book. I should make note that I'm not very easy on my manicure, or hands for that matter =/. I put my hands to workk & I clean everyday. I'm not one of those girls who washes dishes or cleans with those big yellow gloves. lol I actually don't know anyone who does though, so scratch that! lol What I really love is that I have so many strips left over. I think I have enough to wear them two more times. I think the next time I use them, I will use them in sections to create a design. Just to mix things up, a little! I definitely plan to purchase the black & white damask ones [these] in the future. They're just so darn adorable! lol

Note: I didn't actually use any nail polish. Just needed something to hold lol

Seven Deadly Sins : Lust

[Lust] an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body; Excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature.
I finally cleared my head enough to get back into blogging. This past week has been.. distracting, to say the least. But back on track! The next deadly sin is Lust. Raawrr! Some of you Twilight fans' favorite sin. Yes, I hear all that talk about the werewolf guy in the cargo shorts! >.> Lol playing. I didn't go crazy with this one & I still really like it. On the lid I used the darker color & a pink pigment over it. Representing the obscure thoughts (dark purple) of pleasures & desires (pink). The reddish pink lip takes the look a bit further & makes it bolder; Representing the excess of it.

ICE Cosmetics HD Pink • Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette
I used the dark matte purple (First Dance) from Too Faced's Romantic Eye Palette all over the lid. Then Ice Cosmetics' HD Pink on the crease, over the purple. I then used a mixture of First Dance & Un-veil on the lower lash line. I took just a little bit of Soulmates as my highlight. And that's it!! I wanted at least one of these to be really really ridiculously simple to do.

MAC Rare Exotic Mattene Lipstick
Lurve this color! It looks really shiny in this pic ^ but obviosly it's pretty matte. Just moisturizing.. not drying at all. I usually don't like reddish pinks. I tend to gravitate towards blue based pinks but this one's really pretty.

My hair looks red in this window. Aweshumm! I felt like Ariel lol Thanks for stopping by, phrands! How odd, I missed staying up til 5-6am blogging & listening to Chente. (I'm looking at you Lori!) lol xOxO

Seven Deadly Sins : Greed

[Greed or Avarice] the excessive desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual.
Hey ya'll this is the second look; Greed! I went for the gold in this one. The color associated with Greed, according to this site, is the color yellow. I figure gold is close enough lol. Besides, greed is most commonly linked up with riches, right? So that's what that represents here.. Seeing & taking in only the desires for status & wealth (through the eyes) & giving out very little in return to the world (nude lips).

Urban Decay Naked Palette • Nail Art Gold Glitter
I didn't want a super dramatic look.. Even though, this might be pretty dramatic for some people. But if you just take away the glitter & the long eyeliner, I think you're good. *thumbs up* So for starters, I used Half Baked in the inner eye & the lid. Then used a combination of Darkhorse & Hustle in the crease & outer eye. The used Smog just over the mid crease to kind of tie in where Half Baked stopped. Finally, I used Virgin (not pictured) in the highlight. It's the lightest color in the palette. Note: Don't be me & use nail art glitter so close to your eyes lol I don't want to be responsible for any blindness. But anyways, I dabbed a little bit of clear eyelash glue with a synthetic brush & then put this gorgeous gold glitter (ty Annie!) over it & I love the way it looks! Even my brother liked it lol! & He doesn't usually care for anything that isn't sports or food-related lol.

Revlon Nude Attitude • Dots Lip Gloss
I use to wear this combo a lot. But not so much, these days. Anyway! I wanted a nude lip for this & went back to my old reliable lipstick. Anyway, thanks so much for reading! & I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! <3 Peaces. xOxO

I know I said no words but I just wanted to rave really quickly about Dress it Up. It is absolutely my favorite thing I got. It's absolutely beautiful. I compared it to my other lipsticks & it's unlike the colors I have. I just love it. Here's a closer look.
