One person's trash is another person's nail polish rack..

With my nail polish collection growing all of a sudden (I don't know how it happened, honest! :3) I've been looking for ways to organize them. I use to keep them on my dresser but they're starting to take up a lot of space. I was searching online for something to keep them in. But all I really saw were big displays that held like 80-100 polishes. I don't have THAT many so I didn't want something that was going to take up alot of space on my wall. After all, it is just nail polish. =/ Haha.

Well that's where this beauty comes in. Haha. Coincidentally, my mom's been throwing away some old stuff she had stored in the laundry room. LOL she had all kinds of weird things. She found a Hank Williams Jr doll in one of the boxes lol It's exactly like this one. It's freakin creepy. Haa but anyway. This spice rack was pretty much junk. It's brassy & old but the structure is awesome. And I saw it had a big future with my nail polishes. I took it outside & cleaned it as well as I could. Then with a little help from a black spray can..

It became my new way to organize my nail polishes! c:

All my nail polishes fit perfectly!! I was able to fill up two rows on each tier & there's still plenty of room in the back for a third row! I kind of wish it had a middle tray to take advantage of all that extra space in the middle but this is just perfect for now! ♥

I must give credit to Candy from Curves Home Fashion for the inspiration of turning something blah to something fab. I've been following her recently as she's been designing her new office. She took an old mirror, spruced it up & used it as a frame.

I had done something similar last year, to an old gold fan my grandma gave me. I was re-decorating & she gave it to me telling me it needed to be re-painted 'cause it was looking pretty sad. But since the fan was gold & my room is hot pink with black accents... it didn't really mesh well. I ended up spray painting it black & I added a hot pink bow to it. When my Gma saw it, she freaked. She said it was perfect c: Yes... my creative moments are rare lol Sometimes I need a little inspiration. And I think Candy gave me that this week with the hidden treasure rack. So yay!

Here's a pic of the fan I was talking about..

Dude these were big in like the 80's & 90's lool I remember all my tias had these in their houses.

I love how you made good use of it. You saw the potential in it, which most people wouldn't. They'd simply throw it out, and you made it sooo pretty. I love how it looks on your pink wall.
