Instagram Makeup ♥

Instagram has become the easiest & most convenient way to share makeup pics for me. Blogging is still fun though! The beauty of blogging is that you can go into as much detail as you want! But over the past few weeks, I've been sharing makeup pics on Instagram like cray! Below are some of my favorites! I'll include a list of the products I used for each picture. Also, for some of the IG pictures, the filter was too overpowering so I posted the pre-filtered version for some of them. Enjoy!!

The Little Mermaid Makeup.

"You've got to flutter your eyes like dees & you've got to pucker your lips like dees" I remember watching the Little Mermaid when I was five & six.. over & over.. & over again. I had a little tv/vcr sitting on my pink vanity, my parents had painted for me. It's my second favorite Disney princess movie, my first being Cinderella. The weird thing about the Little Mermaid for me, is that I didn't really watch it for Ariel. I watched it for Ursula. Ha! No lie, she's my favorite character in the movie. I still think she's the coolest villain ever. This look isn't supposed to be what Ariel's wearing.. cause that would just be red lipstick & some mascara maybe. This is more just putting all her colors as a mermaid, in one look. I hope you likes!

A-riel Life Mermaid

MAC Turquoise Glitter • MAC Push The Edge • Mabelline Colot Tattoo Painted Purple • UD Purple Haze

The first went over the lid with the purple Color Tattoo. The lid color over it, is Purple Haze. It looks kind of pink in the pictures, but it's more of a red-violet. I then took the blue-purple, Push The Edge, in the crease. With some glitter glue, I went along the botton lash line & then placed MAC's Turquoise glitter over it. These awesome lashes, that I'm absolutely inlove with, I recently picked up. They're from Klean Color's Angelic Wink lashes & they're in the style Smoking Erica. The makeup is simple yet really bold, because of the glitter.. which is always good, in my book.

You Wanna Kiss The Girl

Wet N Wild Stoplight Red [911D] • Mabelline Fuchsia Fever: I did the red lip because Ariel wears it in the movie & also because of her signature red hair. With a lipbrush, I dabbed some Fuchsia Fever along the center, of the top & bottom lips. I think it makes the typical red lip, not so typical!

Awesome design right??! Well, the idea's not originally from me. The original nail design [found here], is a lot prettier! I saw it on wehearit & gaahh, that tail is amazing! I know it's not wearable, but what a fantastic nail art. I tried to make mine, (above) more wearable, but only because I couldn't figure out a way to add that amazing tail & make it look as flawless. Haha. So I did a pointy nail, instead. This was definitely my favorite part of this whole look. I also like how melon-like her body looks on my thumbs lol. Also, I cut the tips of my thumbs in the shape of a lazy "M" to do the seashell bra. I love this design so much!& I'm so proud of my word-play titles lol Me & my boyfriend came up with them lol.

Purple+Pink Indulgence ღ

Holaa! Recently the lovely Kyomi said she was interested in seeing what my girls' night out makeup would look like. So I gave it a go! Now for those of you who know me well, didn't know this look even existed for me. lol Reason being, I pretty much stopped having girlfriends & stopped "going out" a loooong time ago. Eeeek. That sounds mad depressing so enough of my loner ramblings! lol I made this look pretending I still had girlfrandzsz & still went out lol. My favorite eye makeup color is purple so I went with it as my main color. And no imaginary girls' night out is complete without a pretty pink lip.

Mabelline Color Tattoo Painted Purple • MAC Pink Union [m/e/s] • Wet N Wild Green Palette

In this purple look, I used Pink Union from my last post [Chen Man Haul]. Btw the color tattoos are amazing. I've seen a gazillion posts on them already so I didn't do one but yes, I too love them. I found that the purple one was the hardest to get color from. I don't know if that's how it is for all of them or maybe I got a "bad batch" of purple? lol But I love the others. My favorite is the Emerald one. I was dying to get the Teal one but haven't been able to find it. It looks like the prettiest one to me from the whole bunch. They serve as a great base for eyeshadows. They're advertised as being able to be worn alone, as a shadow. But I haven't tried them alone. Anyway though, I'm also wearing some fun falsies. They're random ones from ebay. For some extra oomph (sorry I just watched Happy Feet) I think it'd be nice to add some dark purple or even some black on the outer bottom lash line & smudge it out. Just so that it looks a bit more smokey & more fun-night-out-appropriate. Haa.

MAC Petite Indulgence [c/s glass] • Wet N Wild Mauve Outta Here [907C]

The first picture above is with the lipstick alone & the second is with the Petite Indulgence glass over it. This Wet N Wild lipstick is one that I've recently picked up. It's a gorgeous mauvy-pink & the creemsheen glass is a gift from my lovely friend Lori. It's such a gorgeous gloss. I love the consistency, how smooth it feels on the lips & the color is almost identical to the WnW lipstick. I also love how beautiful it looks on.. aside from the color, the texture is just phenomenal. It's totally my favorite lip combination for the moment!

Nails: Pearly Bows

Pinkly Fresh [Cream]

Meh? Lol The pearls are supposed to be in the shape of bows. This is a pretty babydoll pink cream nail polish. All I could think of when looking at it was, pearls, bows, & tea sets? lol I went rummaging through my nail art stuff & I found these cute little pearls. Looking at it now, I feel like I should've used a different color or maybe a rhinestone as the knot in the middle but I think it still looks cute. Simple, but pretty. I follow tons of girls who do some really great nail art, so when I do notd's just know that I keep you ladies in mind. lol <3 I've been studying & I'm trying to make you proud! lol

Quite Cute Collection: Swatches+Dupes [Updated 9/25/12]

Awww. I know I say this a lot but the kid really deserves it. My man is sooo good to me. ♥ Remember how the only lipstick I could get from this collection was Saint Germain, well not only did he go online to get me Candy Yum Yum but he also got me the purple lipstick & the minty nail polish. :3 Gawsshh I felt so spoiled. Haa. I love my cupcake. c:

China Glaze For Audrey • MAC Mischievous Mint • Revlon Minted

Obviously Mischievous Mint isn't a super unique color either. Haha. It looks really similar to some of the Essie nail polishes I've seen also. But from the polishes I had, I found it most close to Revlon's Minted. I'd say Mischievous has a tad bit more of a blue tint to it than green. But they're still pretty close in color. At first, I was hellbent that it was going to be exactly or more close to For Audrey but nooooo. Gorgeous color, nonetheless.

Candy Yum Yum = Mabelline Fuchsia Fever?

I think the lipstick closest to Candy Yum Yum is Mabelline's Fuchsia Fever. The only obvious difference is that Candy Yum Yum is a neon pink & matte while Fuchsia Fever is more of a satin. They're damn near identical though! Rose Hip & Nouveau Pink, I think would definitely work also if you're going for that bright pink lip. Although it's a different finish too & they're more on the red-pink side.

Candy Yum Yum Comparisons

Mabelline Fuchsia Fever • NYX Shocking Pink • Ka'oir Neon Rockstarr • MAC Candy Yum Yum • MAC Dear Diary • MAC Pink Pigeon • Milani Rose Hip

Now let's get to the good part! Out of these first three lipsticks, the closest one to CYY is Mabelline Fuchsia Fever. The difference being that "CYY" is a neon pink matte.. while "FF" is a bright pink but isn't neon & has more of a wet finish. "Shocking Pink" is way too dark & "Neon Rockstarr" is more of a frost & is too light.

From the next three lipsticks, the best match is "Dear Diary" although it's just a bit darker. "Pink Pigeon" & "Rose Hip" are way more on the reddish pink side & aren't even close to "CYY".

The Results

Candy Yum Yum on the top lip & the comparisons on the bottom lip.

It came down to these two. "Dear Diary" is the clear winner. You can tell more, in person. It is only slightly darker than CYY. "Fuchsia Fever" comes close but lacks the neon & the matte finish. Neither is exact but they're the closest I could find from my collection.

Moxie Comparisons & Results

Moxie on the top lip & Spellbound on the bottom lip. (I should've compared Smokin Hot Pink too lol sorry)

Moxie was way easier lol. I don't have a ton of colors like this but it wasn't hard to find look alikes in my collection. The first one I found is "Smokin Hot Pink" by Wet n Wild which has nothing pink about it, either. -.- In person, it shares the same matte finish as Moxie but in color, it's darker & has more of a brown tint to it than Moxie but is still very very very similar. The other color I found is "Spellbound". It is practically the same color. It's so much like Moxie.. the most notable difference is that "Spellbound" has that creamy finish but the color is almost exact.
