Alice In Wonderland ღ

I was playing around with a palette my lovely friend, Lori gave me. [full post coming soon] & I couldn't help but think of Alice while looking at the palette. The packaging more-so than the colors, reminded me of the latest Alice movie. So I did the eyemakeup! I also did some nails but kept the theme closer to the original movie.

Orly Blue Collar • French White • LA Colors BlackVelvet
My bows are totally weird, I know. Haa. Halfway through, I had to stop & look at pictures of bows because I couldn't remember the basic shape. Really?? Well, I tried. I added the black & white stripes because for some reason, they're almost always incorporated in costumey Alice stuff. (striped tights) I don't know where it came from, but I like it & even though it's not from the original, it totally reminds us of her.

Urban Decay Marisposa Palette: Now this is where it all started. The blue in this palette, Haight, is beautiful & reminds me of Alice's dress. I used the gold color, Limelight, on the lower lashes as her gold-blonde hair. I used a little bit of Skimp in the tear duct area for the white rabbit. I tried using the Gunmetal color on the outer lower lashes but it wasn't dark enough, so I just went over it with a matte black shadow. You can't even tell but as my highlighter, I'm using both highlighters from Wet N Wild's I ♥ Matte palette. I also used my new green circle lenses (review coming soon) because they reminded me of the Mad Hatter's green eyes. Although, lol not as crazy. The lashes are two sets of random ebay lashes. I've been doubling up on lashes a lot lately. They look okay for makeup pictures, I just hope I'm not walking around looking like Alejandra Guzman IRL. Haa. You can check out the palette & a closer look of the colors I used here. Thanks again, Lori!

Wet n Wild Bare it All [902C]
Everyone knows how awesome these lipsticks are. Well I only had three of these babies & I recently went out & bought three more. I was looking for the new shade they have, Dollhouse Pink. But I couldn't find any new colors. This was one of the ones I picked up & I wasn't surprised that I loved it. These are really great quality lipsticks that last a decent amount of time. I wouldn't call them "mega-lasting" lol but they do pretty well.
Thank you for stopping by!

Seven Deadly Sins: Envy

[Envy] is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.
One of the ugliest sins! I'm sure we've all witnessed some form of envy at some point. There's no appreciation of what they already have & obsess over what.. or who they don't have. Tsk tsk.. No bueno! The heavenly virtue that is Envy's opposite is Charity. Charity is happy for other people's goods/happiness while Envy laments it. Since Envy is often referred to as the "green-eyed monster", I used greens on the eyes & hot pink on the lips. I hear "desire" & I think hot pink!

NYX Pigment [Jade] • WnW Comfort Zone Palette
This Jade pigment is soooo pretty! I still don't like green eyeshadows for me but the color itself is really pretty. Something I forgot to add in the pic, I also took the yellowish highlight color lightly around the bottom to blend out Jade a little more. I'm wearing random spikey-like ebay lashes on the bottom. I couldn't keep them in place. I didn't cut them or anything so they kept folding upwards lol

MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick [Show Orchid]
I love this color! It's hot pink with like a blue pearl to it. It's so pretty. It reminds me of the WnW 521A lipstick. Just cause of the blue pearl though 'cause the WnW lipstick is darker & more on the red-pink side but with the same blue-sheen.

NOTD: Pink with Envy.
Orly [Swizzlestick]
This is one of the polishes Annie gave me (Ty Annie!) It's a red based pink & I love it!

Thanks for reading, sheekas. (:

Tequila ☼ Sunrise +Sweetest Phrand.

 Day One: Tequila Sunrise
This look is from Nymphette's September Makeup Challenge. I know a lot of girls have been doing looks from her Makeup Calendar & I've been really loving her themes. It's such a fun way to interract with other girls & see different makeup looks based on the same themes. You get to see one's individual creativity. No one's take on a theme is ever exactly the same. It's really cool! I started off this month, really wanting to do a lot of the ones she came up with, but life kind of got in the way & I only managed to do the first day lol. I've had this in my [drafts] for weeks lol I wasn't going to post it since it's been like a month but I figured mmehh.. what the hey.

ICE Cosmetics: Yellow Brick Road & HD Orange • Sedona Lace 88 Eyeshadows [Matte Palette]
I didn't do anything particularly out of the box but I still really liked this. It's a great excuse to play with bright colors! I used the matte pigments from ICE Cosmetics & used a Pink & an Orange color from the Sedona Lace palette in the crease.

 NYX Spellbound
I used this reddish-orangy-pinkish lipstick. I've seen this on other girls & it looks nothing like mine lol. I seriously think they changed up the formula for this lipstick on us. I'm kidding, but seriously google swatches on this one & you'll see it looks super pink in some. Sooo not the case for me.

Gift from the Lovely Annie

My girl Annie from BeautyyMonsterr [who is incredibly lovley] sent me some surprises this week! & Golly, are they wonderful! Lol I turn into such a square when I'm excited. "Golly Jee Wickers!" Lol moving along, isn't the note adorable?!! It has a little bow at the top & HK at the bottom awww! She sent along not one but 4 Orly nail polishes! Eeep. The only Orly np I had was Oh Cabana Boy & I love it! It's my favorite bright pink nail polish next to 24/7 & Fusion Neon. Which are exactly the same, btw. But on to the pictures to these babies!

How beautiful are these colors??!! & The little specs/nail art stuff pictured above are from a Nail Art kit she sent. It came with nail glue, a nail art pick, & the little tubes of glittery goodness you see. They are so pretty & I can't wait to use them. I like to wear all kinds of colors on my nails, regardless of what season it is. But I think Charged Up & Terracotta are going to be particularly trendy to sport this season! Eeep lol I can't wait. Thanks again to my Annie!

& Thank you guys for stopping by!

Blueberry Muffin Makeup!

 [Inspiration Pic]
Lol Looking at it now, I should've added some purple. But oh well, I was just playing around with the Shadow book & I wanted to keep doing my food inspired makeup looks & I remembered I had saved this pic for inspiration (among many others I'll hopefully get to -___-) Enjoy! (:

I swear, sometimes I get bored with the same technique but I'm too chicken to go outside the box sometimes. I don't like to do something on my face that I'm not going to wear out. & I'm super open minded when I do makeup on others or see different makeup on other girls. But when it comes to me, I feel like I can only wear it a specific way. Lol laaaame. I need to branch out a tad.

Revlon Matte Lipstick in Sky Pink
So sadddd. I just saw Revlon on the list of companies that aren't animal friendly. :( I loved their matte lipsticks. This was the most recent one I've gotten & loved it. I think the list applies to MAC too. I saw them on the list under Estee Lauder. :( If you haven't seen it, Vintage Makeup made a very much needed post on it here. Check it out!

NOTW: Cherry Blossoms Revisited.

I had help with what to do with my nails this week from some lovely ladies on FB. Thanks so much, Annie & Haddona
MAC Mischievious Mint • Orly Oh Cabana Boy • LA Colors Art Deco in Black • Sinful Colors Soulmate
These came out alot better than my previous tries! Lol Check out my experience with Cherry Blossom designs lol

My Hits & Misses!

Oh the ups & downs of being a beauty consumer! There are times when we pick up a random blush for a couple dollars & it unexpectedly ends up being our favorite go-to cheek color! Then we have times when we wait & save up for the most anticipated "must have" of the season, & it ends up being a total piece of garbage! We've all been there. I've collected some of my biggest favorites & some of my biggest disappointments lately. Lol I was considering doing just a [Favorites] post because I hate being negative but some of these really let me down! & I must vent!!

_______________________________________________________________

The Hits ♥
1.) Wet n Wild's Petal Pusher: After being lightweight let down by "Blue Had Me At Hello", I wasn't really planning on picking up anymore of the 8-pan palettes. The blues were kind of hard to blend for me & I thought I would probably get "Comfort Zone" but not this one. I decided to give it a try anyway & I love it. I literally love every color in this. The shadows are soft & the quality is perfect.

2.) Orly's Oh Cabana Boy: Ahhh I love this color! It's a hot pink with a blue undertone that's more obvious IRL. When I first saw it, I thought "Cotton Candy!" lol & for some reason I expected that to be the name of the polish when I turned it over lol. The application is great! The pic above is two coats & was 2 days ago & I haven't had any chipping yet. An obvious hit for me! <3

3.) Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls 3D in Translucent Pearl: My hands down HG face highlighter. I was on the hunt for a powder highlighter for my cheekbones (that's really the only place I highlight) now that summer's coming up. This powder gives off a great glow without being too much. It makes the face look really healthy & I love the way it smells. + The packaging is adorable! It also has a little pearl at the top lol so pretty. (:

4.) Pond's Clarant B3 Moisturizer: It's a dark spot correcting moisturizer that's supposed to even skin tones in 2 weeks & reduces the appearance of dark spots in 4 weeks. I don't use it for this. I just use it as my everyday face moisturizer before I put on my makeup & after cleansing before I go to sleep. It doesn't clog the pores & it does wonders under my eyes. I love it!

Before & After using Shampoo [4 wks]
5.) Regis Designline Silver Shine Shampoo: This shampoo saved my life recently lol. When I dyed my hair blonde, I was left with an ugly ugly yellow-orangy color. My cousin gave me this shampoo that they had recommended to her when her highlights came out brassy. The bottle says "helps to neutralize brassy & yellow tones on grey & blonde hair" & I used it all last month, everyday after using my regular shampoo. I'd leave it in for about 5 mins before rinsing it out. I loveee it! I'm so glad my hair didn't stay looking like Cheetara lol I don't have to use it anymore.

6.) Urban Decay's Naked Palette: Now I'm not a big sucker for neutral shadows. In fact, I think they're quite boring lol I don't know what made me want to jump on the Naked bandwagon but I eventually did & I'm actually glad I did. lol I love this palette & I think the colors (although neutral) are actually really unique & so gorgeous. Even the matte colors like Naked & Buck are so pretty to me. I've been reaching for this a lot since I got it. I love it.. I just didn't love the steepish price. Lol

The Misses! :c
1.) Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Antique Gold: Okay before you freak out. Let me explain myself! lol I really really really wanted the black one but when I got to Walgreens when they came out, it was already sold out. :c So I thought maybe the gold would be okay. This was the only color I got from the set & the picture above was like my 10th try doing this & it came out decent, at best. =/ The polish is very sheer & you can't see the cracks. You literally have to apply the whole glop of polish to get a thick layer & have some crackle (like the pic above). That's the most crackle I could get out of it & it's not what I expected. I wanted it to look as good as the China glaze & OPI ones but no such luck. It's not the worst polish, I just feel like for a $7 nail polish, we shouldn't have to work so hard to get the effect that it advertises on. If anyone wants this, I'll send it to you lol I get so mad when I look at it. I still want the black one though. I've seen some reviews that bash the silver & gold ones but love the regular ones. So I'm thinking maybe the #fail in this has to do with whatever they use to make the polish shimmer.

2.) Milani Even-Tone Powder Foundation (01 Shell): I really had high hopes for this. The product feels sooooo silky & feels just amazing on the skin. The color matched me exactly!! Which is amazing 'cause I have the worst time trying to find my color in any foundation/powder. I'm light-skinned but most of the fair foundations/powders have pink undertones & mine are yellow. So I was really excited about this one until I put it on my face. It's extremely sheer. I guess this would be good as a setting powder. But one of the main things I look for is coverage. I loveee a flawless matte face. This offered the matte but not the flawless lol If I try to build it up for coverage, it starts to look a bit ashey & powdery. So although this has the potential to be a great powder for other girls.. it's a big fat MISS for me. =/

3.) MAC Violet Trance Eyeshadow: I got this awhile back at The Cosmetic Company Store where they sell discontinued or hard to find MAC stuff. I was really excited to try it. I have such a big thing for purple eyeshadows. I love the way they look on brown eyes. So anyway! This shadow's initially came out like 2 years ago, it's from the Makeup Art Cosmetics Collection, it's a matte shadow. *Sigh* So it sounds & looks so perfect but I was so disapointed when I tried to swatch it. No, ladies.. You don't have to adjust your screen settings. That is not a smudge you see above.. that is all I could get when I swatched Violet Trance. It's sooooo sheer & to its defense, it is buildable! & Eventually, after a crapload of rubbing & rubbing & rubbing your brush into the shadow.. you will be able to build the color up. It just didn't seem worth it, at all to me. I lightly swatched some WnW shadows from the Lust palette to show the difference. When I'm paying 3-4 times more money for an eyeshadow.. I expect the color payoff to be better. Call me crazy! I guess I just payed for the brand. *tear*

4.) Crest 3D White Strips (2 Hour Express): Yes, I too fed into the hype of these. :c Can I just say though, for the record.. This is the Mother of all misses. This is the worst thing that has ever crossed paths with me all year. I can't even remember a time I was more in pain than after I took these strips off. I wish I would've read the HONEST reviews on these before I tried them. The only reviews I had seen on these strips were those by Youtube gurus =/ & after trying them myself.. I'm convinced they were lying or didn't leave them on for two hours. I took these off at around 7pm & didn't get any sleep til around 6am. I stayed up all night in agonizing pain & crying. (Thank God I have such a wonderful boyfriend btw) The pain was far beyond just sensitivity. My teeth hurt inside & out & didn't let up at all. I couldn't even open my mouth because the air hurt. I don't recommend these to ANYONE.. besides the fact that they hurt like hell. I noticed zero change in my smile. All the reviews from normal people (non-youtube gurus) that I've seen, have had the same bad experience I did. I don't even know how this product is still out. It really should be banned. It's absolutely horrible!

Sorry to end on such a negative note lol Welp! I hope everyone had an awesome weekend!! ♥
Thanks for reading!!
