Sedona Lace 88 Metal Palette+ Copper ☼ Plum Makeup!

Let's "jump een it"! I'll be reviewing the Sedona Lace 88 Matte Eyeshadow palette today! It was sent to for review purposes from sedonalace.com & the following are my honest opinions on the products & I also included a pretty fun look. We'll be transitioning from Summer into Fall pretty soon & if the ladies at QVC have taught me anything, it's that the Northern Lights Linen bedding will change my life! Lol kidding, they've taught me that your Summer wardrobe should transition into the Fall seamlessly! & That can apply to makeup also, right? An easy way to do that is colors! By including more darker or warmer tones into your makeup, we can start replacing the half baked shadows & the bright colors. Of course, I'm one to wear bright colors & bright lips any day of the year! But let's pretend I'm normal for this post lol. I think the Metal palette is perfect for this! It has a lot of browns & oranges.

This Metal Palette consists of 88 shimmery (metal) shadows. It includes all kinds of shades ideal for the lids, to darken creases, for highlights & everything in between. In the pictures above, are some random swatches from the palette. It shows that some shadows are more pigmented than others. All eyeshadows are really good to work with though. They're soft shadows, so it makes blending a breeze. But they're not overly soft, to the point where they'd crumble easily or where you'd have to be really careful not to overblend. They're pretty great! Like, my 88 matte palette.. The shadows are about the size of a dime. What I love about these palettes is that I have access to so many different colors in one place. Instead of fumbling through multiple palettes or single shadows to do my makeup. I can easily just keep one of these palettes nearby, which takes less space than all my little palettes. Another thing I love is that it doesn't compromise my options, on the contrary, it gives me so many more colors to choose from! In the two weeks, that I've been using this.. I find it hard to get stuck in a makeup rut. It's easier to experiment with new colors & combinations. The application is awesome too. It took me awhile to test out most of the colors & see which were more pigmented than others but now that I know which ones have more color payoff, I know which to use on the lids & which I can use for blending or for subtle color. I had a feeling I would like this palette, just because I already loved my matte one. But this is a really awesome palette. I was kind of afraid of the shimmery shadows because they tend to make all the creases on your eyes a lot more visible lol. But the colors are so gorgeous, that I actually love the shimmer. Overall, I really loved this palette.. my only gripe being that the outside packaging easily gets tons of finger prints & I'm constantly wiping it clean. Lol but that's so trivial & pretty insignificant. Sedona Lace frequently has promotions going on. At the time this was sent to me, they were having a "Get 3 free shadows with each order" promotion. So they also included the 3 shadows shown above! How cool. They're like little refills, they're the same size.

Copper Plum Eyes

Sedona Lace 88 Metal Eyeshadow Palette : This is a look I had done last week. I loved it so much, I decided to redo it for this post. You can check out the original on Instagram here. I tweeked it a bit & also used different lashes this time around. I should also note that I used the Mabelline Color Tattoo in Painted Purple as a base for the purple eyeshadow & I used a fleshtone matte shadow from the 88 Matte palette as the highlight. I love the eyelid color. It's such a pretty plum color. This has become one of my favorite color combinations I've ever done. It just works so well with the bronzy-copperish color. Who knew!

Dollhouse Pink

Wet N Wild Dollhouse Pink : In the original, I had used MAC's Of Royalty as the lipcolor. But for a little more "HEY LOOK AT ME" I switched it out for the bumblegum pink Dollhouse Pink. Which next to Candy Yum Yum is probably every bold girl's favorite lip color! If it's too much for you, you can always just swap it for a nude color or a less obvious pink. Haha

Sedona Lace Tapered Blending Brush 863

I also tried Sedona Lace's Tapered Blending Brush 863 which I found is perfect for blending out harsh edges in the crease! When I first got it, it didn't seem too different from the blending brush I already used but this one works really well. I found that it blended out shadows with less strokes than mine. The bristles are really soft but the tapered shape of the brush, keeps the bristles together when blending. I found that it also works really well for contouring down the nose & around the tip.. something I couldn't do with my old blending brush.  Anyway, I've been using this brush for the past two weeks & also used it in the Plum+Copper  makeup look above.

She's got these big green eyes and they're as wide as the moon..

lensvillage.com was generous enough to send a pair of circle lenses for a review. I had posted a poll on my blog awhile back asking what color of circle lenses you would be interested in. Hazel won by a smidgen. Tied for second place was Green & Grey. Since I was looking for something bigger than 16mm, I couldn't pick from their Hazel lenses since they were all smaller. So it was down to Green & Grey and considering my last circle lens post was on Grey lenses, I opted for Green! I've been trying these for about a month. I wanted to make fair comparisons to my other lenses & gave myself some time to really get familiar with them. The following is my personal experience with these lenses & my honest opinions.

My Experience

• Design: I really like the design. In natural lighting, the green color isn't super obvious for me. I have really dark eyes & the green color doesn't really come through. So if you're looking for a green that will really show up on dark eyes, these are not ideal for that. I'm not too comfortable with colored contacts on me though so I'm fine with the subtle green. They photograph really nicely with flash, as you can see, but the color won't look like that irl.
• Enlargement: One thing I didn't like was that these don't have the dark circle around them.. which leaves more room for color but for me, I feel like it looks like it takes away some enlargement. I feel like the dark ring makes my eyes look bigger. I don't mind the lack of color, 'cause what I want is enlargement. Still, they are really nice at enlarging the eye. Although, I don't see much difference at all from my 15mm.
• Comfort: Super comfortable! I like these much more than my GEO lenses when it comes to comfort. I don't even feel them! When I wear my grey GEOS, I can feel a difference. My grey ones aren't uncomfortable but I can still feel them & need drops some days, or they'll start to feel itchy. Not the case with these green ones.
• LensVillage.com: The website itself offers some reasonable prices+ they have a lot of sales/promotions. The lenses are easy to navigate through; sorted by color & brand, which is always helpful!

Overall, these are beautiful lenses. I'm loving the subtle color change & definitely a fan of the how comfortable they feel. If anything, I think that's what makes me love them so much. They feel amazing.

Let's get this straight! • Review

HANA Professional 1" Flat Iron

Let's talk about hair, baby! So recently, I was sent this flat iron to try out & review from Misikko.com. Now I've been seeing a lot of reviews on here recently of these! One of the firsts being on Kiss an Makeup on a different flat iron from the same site [found here] But prior to blogger, I hadn't heard from the site nor the brand HANA before & after reading everyone's thoughts I was really excited to try it for myself!

Review: Jamberry Nail Shields

Holaaa! Remember my not so pleasant experience with nail stickers? They looked adorable & pretty for like a day & then they started peeling off. :c Well this time around, I tried out Jamberry's Nail Shields! Their lovely Independent Consultant Nicole was sweet enough to give me the chance to try these babies for myself. Of course I'll have to admit, I had no clue what Jamberry nail shields were or how they worked lol So in case, you're looking at me with that stunned Larry Merchant face lol. Here's basically what they are..

About the product

[Jamberry Nail Shields are a solid film covering that can be applied directly to natural/acrylic/gel nails to achieve a look. This special material is both pressure and heat activated to create a bond to your nail. The film is finished with a high gloss protective layer to prevent your nail shield from chipping or scuffing. Application takes about  fifteen minutes & the claims are that it can last up to 2 weeks on fingers and 6 weeks on toes.]

My Experience

I love the styles they offer & I love that it doesn't take rocket science to figure out how to put them on correctly. Now I don't know about ya'll but I enjoy my "me time". Even if it's just doing my nails, I embrace that time. So the 15-20 minutes it took to apply, was fine for me because I knew they'd last a while anyway. I'm usually the type that changes nail colors every other day. I know I'm not alone either lol Some of us wear a different color everyday lol. When you peel them off, they feel just like stickers with air bubbles & all. The heat from the blow dryer, though, really helps with those & once the heat makes it more flexible (it doesn't take that long) you just press down on the shield. I cut the excess after this using a combination of scissors, small nail clippers, & a nail file. I then ran the blow dryer over it one last time & pressed firmly again, just to kind of seal in the edges. For each little strip, I was able to cover two nails. So I ended up using only 5 strips.

Shield is just placed on nail. This is before any heat or pressure was applied. I just wanted ya'll to get an idea of the length of the strips.

My Results

Lovely. I was very pleased with the quality & of course the pattern is adorable. I managed to keep them on for 6 days. After the sixth day, I noticed peeling on the corners on the first nail. By the eighth day, 2 more nails started lifting at the corners. After that I took them off. They didn't last the full two weeks for me but they still had a pretty good run, in my book. I should make note that I'm not very easy on my manicure, or hands for that matter =/. I put my hands to workk & I clean everyday. I'm not one of those girls who washes dishes or cleans with those big yellow gloves. lol I actually don't know anyone who does though, so scratch that! lol What I really love is that I have so many strips left over. I think I have enough to wear them two more times. I think the next time I use them, I will use them in sections to create a design. Just to mix things up, a little! I definitely plan to purchase the black & white damask ones [these] in the future. They're just so darn adorable! lol

Note: I didn't actually use any nail polish. Just needed something to hold lol

Lollipop Eyes+ Bummer

LANDBIS Mini Cute Pink Liquid Eyeliner [Black] from KKCenterHk

Hey ya'll! I'm reviewing this mini pink eyeliner in black today. First application was awesome. The felt tip applicator was really stiff. The liner came out very black after going over it a few times & it was really easy to use. My only bone to pick with it was, that since my eyes do water a lot & this liner isn't waterproof, it smeared first (see pic below) & then came completely off in the inner corners of my eyes. That was my only problem with this eyeliner & I figured, "Well it's not for watery eyes.. but maybe there's people with perfect eyes that never water who can use it." Lol that is though, until I tried the next day to use the liner again. I had the hardest time trying to get a solid black line from the liner. I noticed the felt tip was significantly softer.. softer to the point where the transparent black line wasn't sharp or precise like it was the day before. :( I knew I wasn't going to get much use out of it after the first application because it just couldn't hang with my waterworks.. Haaa. But I thought I would still be able to recommend it to someone who didn't have Lake Minnetonka eyes. But I guess not!

What it claims:

Allows for a quick and precise application of eyeliner.
Last all day without any flaking, smudging, smearing or streaking.

My Conclusions:

It did offer a precise application & a clean sharp line.. the first time around but I couldn't get it the same after that.
Due to my watery eyes, it didn't last very long at all.

LA Colors Lollipop • Sedona Lace Matte Palette

On to the makeup before the smearing happened! Haa I looove this Lollipop palette. I got it recently & I had never seen it anywhere except online. It's super pretty & I love all the colors it has. I also used an aqua color from the Sedona Lace palette.



I have tons of posts coming up. I've been slacking & putting them off
& now they're piling up on me. Lol So please don't get annoyed with me if I start posting a lot. :3

My 1st NYX Purchase+Swatches

Hey you's guys. So I recently purchased Nyx stuff for the very first time. *tear* The Ulta down here is kind of far from me & I've never even been there. I've been wanting to order online from the NYX site since Tiffany sent me the Pinky Natural lipgloss that I totally fell in love with. (Still my favorite lip gloss ever btw) but I honestly just wasn't too motivated to buy $4 lipsticks plus shipping for something I had never tried or seen IRL. What a cheapskate!! Yes.. Yes, I am. Haa. Well anywayy! I stumbled across the site beautyjoint.com & saw that they had the round lipsticks for $1.99 & S&H was $2 something. I now know what it feels like to strike gold. Lol Super exciting. I was really pleased with the shipping & the easy checkout & of course the great prices. I'll definitely be going back to get some Jumbo Pencils & some lip glosses yay!

Spellbound

So here are the ones I picked.. in all their fabulous glory. Haa. I literally spent like two hours trying to decide which to get. I was googling swatches like crazy. Thank God for blogger & all of you ladies who have swatches posted. Haha. You helped me A LOT! Narcissus, Strawberry Pink, & Circe really caught me off guard. I thought they were going to be my favorite & I was going to love the for evarzz. But meh.. Circe doesn't really flatter me, at all. I'm not sure what it is, It looks really nice in the tube & swatched, but on my lips it's not so impressive. It looks kind of dark & makes my whole face look weird to me. I'll try to do a look with it, anyway. The light pinks weren't too flattering on me either lol but I still like them just because they're pink. I had the lowest expectations for Tea Rose & Fig. They're pretty similar to each other, except Tea Rose is a tad bit more neutral while Fig is a bit more Pinkish, but just a little bit. I ended up loving these the most from the rest of the round lipsticks. They're super flattering & give the lips such a pretty color. They're really close to my lipcolor & I find they look good with almost any eye look. Spellbound looks red on me & I thought it would be more Pink. It's the only one I really regret getting. It's a gorgeous color, just not on me lol. I expected to love Hot Pink & Shocking Pink & I really do! Especially Shocking Pink. It's freakin lovely. Fuschia & Matte? Omm.. yes please!

I think the only bone I have to pick with the lipsticks is that the round ones I feel like I have to be careful with them. I'm pretty tosca with my stuff so it needs to be built tough like Ford. & The round lipsticks, I always feel like I'm going to break them. The matte one [Shocking Pink] which cost a little more, is perfect though. It feels like most of my other lipsticks. Sturdy-ish? lol I should report that I've already broken Spellbound v.v It's the one I liked the least & the one I would've picked to take the plunge before the rest but I still got sad. Don't get me wrong though, they're not completely flimsy like the $1 Elf lipsticks. Haa. Oh yeah, & some of them taste like dish-washing soap to me. Like Tea Rose & one of the light Pink ones, I forgot which. Don't ask me how I know what dish-washing soap tastes like -___- lol but I got the slight hint of it in some of them. Other than that, I really love them & am super happy I finally got them!  Btw Check out Mie's blog No Beauty Limits! She was sweet enough to feature me & two other ladies in her Spotlight. She's a lovely girl with a fab sense of style. Thnx a bunch again, beautiful. <3
